I just returned from the Casino Affiliate Conference in Amsterdam where I met with the top-guns of the online gambling world in the field of affiliate marketing. Met with old friends and made several new ones. Accepted gifts from the leading affiliate managers and enjoyed being wined and dined, everyone was most up-beat about the industry and a feeling of confidence for the future prevails.
During discussions with conference attendees I was seeking assistance to grow Poker Avenue USA and hunting for the legendary "Super Affiliates", these are webmasters who earn in excess of $100k per month from promoting online gaming sites. Yes, they exist and yes I did meet some as there were over 300 affiliates at the show and probably 10% of those are the top affiliate income earners in the business. After all, how many people can take a few days of in the middle of the week to fly to Europe and attend an expo and conference solely related to Gambling Affiliate Marketing.
The parties were the best place to meet people, so I attended several cool parties that were hosted by the leading affiliate networks. These parties were not only well attended but most of the party-goers were affiliates and webmasters like me, so it was great fun to meet so many like-minded people. Always asking people that I met where they were from I never met a single person who was actually from Amsterdam, as everyone came in from abroad. It's my guess that the city that sent the highest number of conference attendees was my home town of Vancouver.
The conference was also very valuable for me to work and spend time with my associate Gian Perroni from CanAffco (Canadian Affiliate Management Company), speaking of Vancouverites, Gian is from B.C. and has been a leader in Poker marketing and expert in affiliate management. We're working together on several projects including developing the RevPay Card which is an "Affiliate Payment Solution" (another story). We were able to synchronize our plans and reach some mini-breakthroughs on how to best parlay our resources.
Now the work is intensifying as Winning Streak has a new purpose, to provide affiliate marketing to PokerAvenueUSA.com and there's lot's of infrastructure design and development necessary before we can really start to invite all the affiliates and super affiliates to join our new program.
NOTE: from this day forward Winning Streak is going to become a very focused, dependable and useful resource for Gambling Portal Webmasters, as I plan to share inside industry knowledge and write daily about what's working for Winning Streak and others marketers in the online gaming sector.
