Big Brown is a Monster!

What will you be doing in the early evening on June 7th? I hope its watching the Belmont Stakes so that you can witness the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years. If you watched Big Brown in the Preakness, and granted it was a weak field, you saw a horse that not only won going away with an extra gear to pull away from the pack, but by all accounts, a "freak", a "monster", that will certainly be the odds on favorite to be the newest Triple Crown winner. The first since Affirmed in 1978 which followed Triple Crown winners Seattle Slew in '77 and Secretariat in '73, so it was almost ho-hum back in the 70s. But we know now how difficult a challenge it truly is after watching nine other winners of the first two legs of the Triple Crown lose the Belmont since then. Great horses like Spectacular Bid, Pleasant Colony, Alyesheba, Sunday Silence, Silver Charm, Real Quiet, Charismatic, Funny Cide and Smarty Jones in '04. But were any of these Derby-Preakness winners called a freak or a monster as has Big Brown? Is it too much praise, too soon? As a sports fan, I know I'll be watching because Big Brown is an awesome athlete that is worthy of the praise in my book. I relish the opportunity to witness history and the fun that it will be picking the winning exacta and trifecta. After all, winning is fun!

Are you ready to Beat The Book?

Ok, its not football season, but do you want to make easy money? This is the time of year when you can bang your head against the wall, betting basketball and/or hockey and/or baseball, if you don't have the right information. I know you could use more useful information, and that's why I'm here. Are you ready? Well, you'll need to let me know!!! You can use all the help you can get, right? I'm not talking about the obvious pointers given out on ESPN, like what Stehpen A. Smith has to say about the NBA, or Barry Melrose about the NHL or Steve Phillips about MLB, or what Skip Bayless says about anything! I'm talking about real trends and inside information. Stuff you NEED to Beat The Book!

Here's your first tip, and its an easy one. The only way to make money in baseball is to be on the underdog consistently. Now, THAT takes guts, and it also takes time.... I'm talking over the long haul. Take a peak into the past few years history... (or the past few decades for that matter)! Are you experienced with this trend already? Let me know one way or the other. Tell me who you like to ride or who you think you should be on next, and I'll keep you straight. Until next time! Stay in touch. College football and the NFL will be here before you know it, and you need the confidence to step up and Beat The Book! Got it!?
