CalvinAyre.com coming 4th Quarter 2009

Calvin AyreCalvinAyre.com website has the iGaming industry waiting in expectation of something totally different. Any day now the site will go live and most likely be filled with cool and interesting content, then from the first day jump right up to becoming a major information hub in the online gaming industry. One thing you can bet on is that Calvin will not disappoint his friends and fans.

Calvin Ayre is the founder of Bodog online gaming and entertainment brand, which he developed and launched in 1994. In a 2009 interview Calvin stated that, following the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in 2006, the organization that he led and that had been accepting customers from the United States withdrew from that market, instead licensing the brand to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, which then operated its own online gaming website servicing the US under the Bodog brand. Now he's come out of retirement to rock the iGaming industry once again, this time with his new project www.calvinayre.com

Today Representative Barney Frank, Democrat of Massachusetts, announced that next week he plas to introduce legislation aimed at overturning the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

Speaking at the Reuters Global Financial Regulation Summit in Washington DC, Mr. Frank said the bill was being drafted this week and that his committee has been busy with other measures addressing reform of financial regulation in the wake of the credit crisis. Regarding the new Internet Gaming legislation Mr. Frank said:

"We'll be introducing it next week and I plan to move on it"

Gian Perroni

I first had the pleasure of meeting Gian over 10 years ago in Vancouver, Canada, and even then he was excited about Poker, not just On-line Poker but all things to do with Poker, including playing Poker. Gian was the first person I knew that foresaw the future of the game, so it was no surprise to me when he applied his marketing knowledge and leadership skills, towards becoming the Guru he is today at building large successful Poker Networks.

Gian and I have been working on a few projects together, which I'll share more details about in the days ahead but I wanted to post this short promotion to inform readers that Gian Perroni will be speaking at the World Poker Congress and at the Skill Games Conference at the I-Gaming Conference in Malta, November 27-29.

Poker Affiliate World

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting the founders of Poker Affiliate World, Jeremy and Damon at the Casino Affiliate Conference in Amsterdam. These two entrepreneurs have done something unique in our industry by aggregating several affiliate programs into one system they call PAW. It's a really useful website (see: www.pokeraffiliateworld.com) even without the nice affiliate back-office interface, since there's tons of resources for improving your gambling portal's conversion, increasing traffic or learning about what's hot in the world of affiliate marketing.

I liken the PAW to a commission junction of poker affiliate programs.

I just returned from the Casino Affiliate Conference in Amsterdam where I met with the top-guns of the online gambling world in the field of affiliate marketing. Met with old friends and made several new ones. Accepted gifts from the leading affiliate managers and enjoyed being wined and dined, everyone was most up-beat about the industry and a feeling of confidence for the future prevails.

The online gambling industry's 'Public Outcry Capaign', meant to reveal the publics displeasure in this century's form of prohibition, is moving into phase two this week. Callers will be emphasizing to their representatives that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act should be repealed because it is in direct violation of a recent World Trade Organization ruling.

NEWTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 18, 2007 -- The Gambling Portal Webmasters Association (www.gpwa.org), the only professional organization of its kind, announced that it had reached a milestone today with the award of the 200th "Approved Portal Seal" to one of its member websites.

In making the announcement, Steven Corfman, GPWA Program Manager, stated, "Players are looking for sites they can trust, and honorable webmasters deserve to differentiate themselves from rogue operators. The Seal of Approval program provides the distinction these webmasters deserve, and gives consumers the information and assurance to make critical decisions about who is reputable and who to skip past. We are excited about this important milestone and look forward to continued growth."

The Internet has made poker into an international phenomenon played by millions around the world. By the nature of the game, most will be losers, but "Texas hold 'em" and the other variations of poker has a professional face, too, not just that of pasty-faced gamblers staring passively at computer screens.

Traveling for a living and imbued with plenty of business nous, the new breed of professional player is blurring the line between poker as a high-stakes hobby and a potentially lucrative, if highly unconventional job.
